MUST WATCH : Patricia Tumulak defends self from nasty AlDub fans!
For the first time, Patricia Tumulak, also known as Patring of “Eat Bulaga,” answered the issue of her being bashed by AlDub fans because she is being linked to Alden Richards.
According to Patricia, never did she imagine being linked to Alden since in the first place, she considers herself the elder sister of both Alden and his “Eat Bulaga” partner Maine Mendoza. So she is wondering where AlDub fans got the idea to romantically associate her with the Pambansang Bae.
One possible reason why fans linked her to Alden is because among the EB hosts, she is unattached. Fans surmised that since she’s available, she could be a possible girlfriend material. But Patricia says – no offense meant to Alden – the handsome actor is not her type. He is younger than her, and she goes for older men.
In fairness to Patty, she tries to be positive and cool despite the backlash and intrigues being hurled at her since deep inside, the issues thrown her way are far from the truth.
But she did say she was affected once when she forgot to erase the nasty comments in her Instagram account – comments which her mom was able to see. Her mom was upset by what she read and cried because of the hurtful words directed at Patricia.
The online comments were really foul. Aside from accusing Patricia of having been pregnant, she was also accused of undergoing abortion. She was even tagged as a woman of ill repute who is trying to make “pa-cute” and was making advances to Alden. These were so foul that her mom shed buckets of tears.
The comments said Patricia was deliberately trying to get Alden’s attention through her outfits. But, she says, the clothes she wears on the noontime show are provided by a stylist and her wardrobe is selected to fit her image of a beauty-queen host, since she was a former Miss Earth first runner-up.
Patricia is also a pre-school teacher at Miriam Grade School and she also taught in a public school and at a day care center. She was so hurt by the accusations because even her profession as a licensed teacher was not spared by nasty AlDub fans. She is not doing anything wrong but was mistakenly accused of trying to be sweet to Alden.
When her mom cried, it was only then that Patricia explained to her the rumors linking her to Alden that made AlDub fans mad at her. But she never fought back nor answered the nasty comments. The best way to deal with bashers is to ignore and block them. Her mom even told her to quit showbiz if she can’t take the mean comments.
Patricia said she never felt that Alden had romantic interest in her. And she never also made Alden feel that she was interested in him. They never went out on a date, not even a group date, so the rumors linking her to the heartthrob are really unfair.
She admitted keeping a distance from Alden lest her actions be misinterpreted by malicious fans. She also told him to refrain talking to her on EB since any girl Alden approaches gets bashed. But she has no problems with Maine.
“If you know in your heart that you are not doing anything wrong, stay strong, hold your head up and don’t mind the bashing,” said Patricia. “If you know that you are not stepping on anybody’s toes, people will see it, without even defending yourself or pleasing anyone.”
Patricia officially makes her acting debut in the new Kapuso morning show “Calle Siete.” The series will replace “Princess in the Palace” which will end this Friday. Also in the cast of “Calle Siete” are LM Mercado, Ms. Gloria Sevilla, and “That’s My Bae” grand winner Kenneth Medrano.
